The Athlete

We want to talk about you.

The athlete.

In this relationship, you are the most important person. Without you, there are no start lines and no environments for us to create. There are no experiences to share, no highs or even lows. That’s why we’ll always start with you.

This status, though. It comes with responsibility. It comes with a commitment to becoming the best version of you; a commitment to a goal; to being honest with yourself, inspiring others and leaving the sport in a better place.

But to really embrace and take hold of it, you need to start asking the big questions:

Why are you doing this?

Why have you signed up for your next race?

Why are you setting goals that push you to the very limits of your ability?

Addressing them honestly will help you connect to your goals and, ultimately, reach them. There’s no right or wrong; the only rule is to be true to yourself.

And despite what people may try and sell you, changing your diet or exercise routine is no substitute for looking inwards. A calorific deficit and extra miles on the road won’t help address the emotions, insecurities and past experiences that are driving you towards the goals you have set yourself.

As for what you’re looking for from us, we follow a simple formula:

Athlete (attention + commitment) x Coach (knowledge + experience) = Devastating Athleticism

We create environments, both in training and competition, to support you in achieving your performance potential.

We are relentlessly committed to delivering the basics in a big way and using them as the building blocks for training programmes that go further than just getting you over the line. They are designed to reduce time lost through injury and illness and to optimise the hours you can afford while balancing your existing commitments outside of the sporting arena.

These aren’t fair weather programmes. They are year-round commitments to embracing your journey at every level.

They include small, intimate workshops to develop winter nutrition plans and body composition targets aligned to your goals, even in the off-season. They provide you with a multidisciplinary team of sport science experts to support you physically and mentally as you develop and grow as an athlete and a person.

Whatever drives you intrinsically and whatever your training plan looks like, we will build it with individualisation at its core; the principle of each athlete being unique in a multitude of ways. Because some athletes see rapid improvements on a training programme that others may be slower to respond to. Some make the greatest progress through high volume training while others gain strength and speed through high intensity. Outside of their sporting endeavours, some athletes will live a stressful lifestyle, diminishing the intensity of training they can tolerate. For others, life will move at a much more mellow pace.

The list of variables that contribute to individuality goes on and on; genetics, diet, experience, training venues, equipment, personality and support, to name but a few.

But however you’ve come to find us, wherever your journey has started and however different you may be from any other athlete, there is one individualistic trait we all have in common: we all have a ‘why’ and that is something that we never ignore.

We’re here to help you embrace it. We’re here to make sure that it pushes you forward with every stroke, revolution and stride. Because this is your journey, unique to only you.

The athlete.
